Why We Control Cockroaches
Cockroaches may be small, but their impact can be significant. Here’s why we take cockroach control seriously:
- Disease Transmission:
- Cockroaches are vectors of disease, carrying organisms that cause food poisoning (such as salmonella, staphylococcus, and streptococcus).
- They move from sewers and drains into buildings, contaminating anything they touch—food, utensils, and preparation surfaces.
- Their partially digested food and droppings further contribute to the risk.
- Reputation Damage:
- A cockroach infestation can tarnish a business’s reputation swiftly.
- Industries handling food and drink, as well as regulated environments, face greater risks.
- Negative reviews and social media exposure amplify the reputational costs.
Types of Cockroaches in the UK

- Prefer damp and dark areas.
- German Cockroach (Blattella germanica):
- Light brown with two dark stripes on their thorax.
- Often found in kitchens and bathrooms.
